another travel ?

DH and I are flying from corpus to chicago. Jovani is a lap child, so he flys for free Anyways, I asked one of the reps if I would be able to take bottles on the plane and she said yes, but you know formula has to be thrown away within an hour so she said I could take an ice pack bag just as long as it isnt gel. I have a similac bag that the hospital gave me that came with an ice pack but I dont know if its gel or not. It doesnt say on the bag. So, do you have any recommendations on a certain brand of ice packs that meets airplane standards?

I don't have any, sorry. I can tell you this...I passed two big sippie cups full of milk through airport security a few weeks ago. They were in the diaper bag and I forgot to dump them before we went through, and nobody noticed them. YIKES!

do you formula feed? can you bring the powder and then get small bottles of water from the flight attendants? that is what I would do instead of premaking them.

That's what I would do..or get the premade formula and bring it for the flight..much easier

the rep told me im not allowed to take the powder formula or bottles of water, they have to be premade which is no problem for me or the baby, its just theat the flight is 3.5 hours and you know formula cant be out that long or it goes bad. thats why i wanted to know if there were special ic packs or bags that were available or special for flight?

I flew several times when Z was smaller (illness and subsequently death in the family) and I took the bottles filled with water. I just had to have them in their own ziplock and take them out of the baby bag. I brought powdered formula. I only used distilled water when he was younger, because regular drinking bottled water often has "additives" like minerals, sodium, etc.
