Mommas to preemies
When did you go back to work?
I know I have a little while left on my maternity leave but I don't know that I will be ready to go back to work. Actually, I KNOW I won't be ready I started my new job not long before I went into labor so I hate to take more time off than my leave or even leave because I it!

I didn't have a preemie, but I can't imagine going back to work while they were still in the hospital. Sounds like it would be too hard. I don't know what you do, but my company gives unpaid leave, which still holds your job. Or you can work out a part time arrangement. The best thing to do is talk to them. Most places are pretty understanding about those situations.

I work for an accounting firm - I haven't worked for them very long at all and I'm afraid to ask for a lot of time off!
![]() I'll be meeting my boss for lunch later this week so I'll bring it up then. I know I don't want to go back while they are in the hospital but I don't wanna go back when they are home either cause DF will most likely be in Iraq in the near future and the thought of a sitter at that age just makes me cringe! The job is important to me though, so we'll see!

I was a premie. 2 months early over here! I wanted OUT!!
I did gymnastics in there & wraped the umbilical cord around my neck 3 times. But my mom didnt go back to work for an extra month after I was stable. I was good to get out of the hospital about a month after birth, but most daycares are incapable of dealing with premies or aren't even willing to take them.. Too much of a risk. |

How long have you been working for that company? You should be entitled to something like 26 weeks of FMLA with your babies being sick (that is what I am on right now). It will be unpaid after your mat leave runs out, but it is available. You should look into it.
