Update on dd's eyes
A couple weeks ago I posted about how her pediatrician was worried about her eyes crossing. I thought it was just her focusing, she will be 4 months in a couple days. So I finally took her to a specialist and they said she is far sided and her muscles in her eyes are not working as good as they should. SO they said for the next 30 days she has to wear a patch on her good eyes a couple hours each day and then he prescribed her glasses. It was so cute trying them on her but yet so freakin expensive. In a way I am bothered by this because she is my baby. But at the same time I guess its a good thing is we found it out early. I am to take her back in 6 weeks and they said if her muscles havent started working a lil better they may have to do surgery on her eye to fix the muscles. So lets just hope that she doesnt need surgery. Oh yeah, instead of just getting the glasses from the doc I decided to look around first and I found another eye doctor, a really old man who said he will help, he had me bring her in so he can take a look at her and he said he makes lenses in his office so he said he can get glasses for her for less than half the price the doc wanted. He just needs to find a frame to fit a baby.

I had that as a kid! I had to wear the patch and do the exercises with the light up pen and then at one point I had eye surgery (nothing serious just tightened the muscles out patient). I was in second grade when I had my surgery. Let me know if you have any other questions. It wasn't as bad as I would think looking back on it!

Absolutely. I remember it well.
Also, I thought of this earlier... Put some vaseline or chapstick or something around her eye where the adhesive is on the patch. It was ok at first, but when you start taking it on and off every day, it dried out and started to peel and just didn't feel good. I would do it after I took the patch off so that it still stuck during the time I had to wear it. The other thing I did was color them (they come in like bandaid brown), but she's a little young for that. It just made me feel better about having to wear it.
