Talk about Nerd Rage!

Last week my guild experienced some pretty freaking Epic Nerd Rage!

My husband is the GM of our 25 man raiding guild (Para Bellum on Nesingwary). We had a husband and wife who's been with us for a couple of months and they were great players etc. We do our loot at the raids on DKP to keep it fair. A chest piece dropped a few weeks ago and my husband had the most DKP for it, but the husband in the couple I just mentioned really could have used it more, so my husband let him have it evne though he had more DKP. After the raid when my husband was ipdating our guilds website he realized the guy was WAY negative on DKP, which always sucks because then you have to wait a while for loot. He talked to the guy and mentioned it and said that if he wanted to give the chest over to him and get the DKP back so he woulnd't be so negative he'd do that for him, but it was up to him. My husband was just trying to help him out... the guy decided to give my husband the chest so he'd get the DKP back.

Last week boots dropped, 3 people wanted them and that guy was one of them. He was the least amount of DKP and my husband had the most. My husband asked what the other 2 were wearing so he could see if they needed it more than him. The guy automatically assumed my husband wasn't following the DKP rules and was trying to loot council the boots, when all he was trying to do was help others get better gear as well. I guess ebtween the chest thing and the boots that night he was really mad at my husband thinking he was being unfair.

All of the sudden the guy had a complete meltdown! He was SCREAMING and swearing on vent. He flipped out so bad that he broke his keyboard and then went over and screamed some more on his wife's vent. It was so over the top and awful that it was almost kind of funny . All of that over loot! OVER A GAME! WTF? Some people get waaaaay too caught up into that stuff, seriously!

I wish I had a recording of it .

His wife faction changed because she was so embarased and he just gquit and never apologized It's now a huge joke in the guild at least .

I have been in a few guilds threw out my time of playing WoW.. and there are some FREAKS out there. The thing is.. dont let that get to yall. DKP is pretty hard on people because missing a raid or two really ****s you up on gettin gear for a while and really pisses people off. I feel sorry for his wife for having to faction change like that. But dont think that will be your last encounter with people like that.. we meet people like that almost every day!

Haha thats crazy... Sometime when people get really upset I just wanna jump on vent and yell "ITS A FREAKING GAME!!!" even tho I'm sure that would make it worse! My guild usually doesn't have too many issues with loot, but every once in a while a PUG goes crazy... We have one kid in our guild who has been trying to pick up a shield (I don't remember which one atm) for like months (to the point that there is probably a WAYY better one now... but it's just the point) and someone flipped out a few weeks ago when he picked it up and the other guy didn't... my guildie ended up giving it to him, even though he didn't deserve it.... crazy people!!

I hate DKP and so does my husband. On our guild there are people who constantly raid, my husband works alot so he can't raid much, so when he does and a peice drops he can't have it for his main spec but people with DKP can get it for there off spec's

Its not fair I hate it and thats my opinion on DKP. But yes there are giant nerds out there on WOW

DKP works best for us because we raid 4 nights a week and to be a raider you must have at least 75% raid attendance. A post is required on days you can't make it. We're a 25 man progression guild so it's fair to those who bust their butt each raid night to progress . We've downed everything in Ulduar except for Yogg and we're downing the TOC bosses as they open up.

The way it works with us is we call for raider main specs, THEN raider off specs if no one needs it for main. If no raider needs it for main or off spec then it's open to any member/trial/FWB who tagged along that night.

I hate, hate, HATE DKP, and we don't use it. We just farm Naxx and/or heroics to get people gear so we can raid Uldy altogether. And then we all take turns getting gear. Of course, we're also a family guild (literally, my MIL, FIL, brother, step-brother, husband, +3 people from our old server) all started a guild, so we're all really good friends and don't care that much. My gear score is 2384, so I'd rather give the pieces that I could use but don't really need to other people that raid with us/come into the guild.

An ex-friend of mine (he hacked my husband's wow account because DH would make /rude at him when he would see him because he kicked me out of "his" guild because I was running a heroic with people "he" didn't like (did I lose you? ) and he was JUST like this... he would flip out over the stupidest ****.

I was all "dude, at the end of the day, it's a damn game. ****".

Sorry you guys had to deal with that.

I've never heard of DKP before, but then I'm not a big raider. I find it hard to find people to raid with when I'm free (after 9pm AK time usually)

My guild is really cool though, it's like a little family.

We raid 8 - 11 (EST), sunday, monday, wednesday and thursday.
