PS3 Online gaming question - Gamers

I am not a familiar face in this part of the boards

But my husband is a gamer. We just had our wireless set up today so he is dying to be able to game online through the TV of course. How do we do this? He mentioned having to pay for it monthly.

There isn't a subscription cost for the PS3, only for XBox Live. As far as how to set it up... I'm not sure. Dh isn't here and he's the one who set ours up.

It's super easy! Especially with a wireless connect, You have to go to the settings and find the one that has internet connectivity on it.

You know what. I'll be right back. I'm going to turn on my PS3 so I can tell you. But yup it's freeee.

Okay from the main menu, you have to go to Settings then drop down all the way down the list to Network Settings you'll find everything you need to establish the internet connection and make sure your internet connection is enabled on your PS3 after all of that.

He'll have to sign up for a PSN ID and the system will probably download a few updates for the PS3. Depending on which game he plays online he may have to create a different ID for that. It's a pain what Konami has you do especially for Metal Gear Online but I don't know about other games. SOCOM was easy. It used his PSN ID.
