Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s

LOVE this game - has anyone else tried it? I have been playing GH3 with DD and getting my butt kicked (in my defense she has been playing much longer than I have, lol) but the 80s version seems a little easier - or maybe it's just that I like the soundtrack so much more, lol.

We have GH 2 and 3 but now we usually play Rock Band.

For those that play/prefer Rockband - what is the difference between it and GH?? We own Rockband but I have never played it as it is in NC with DH - am I missing out??

well first off, rockband has a guitar, drums and a mic for a singer, but you can also buy a second guitar for a bass player. its a lot more fun to play with a group of people and more people can play.

second, the guitar. the guitar hero guitar is annoying for me to use, now that im used to the rockband guitar. the guitar hero guitar has really small bottons, [the colored notes you press] so its easier for you to miss notes and get your fingers off track, you know? you get used to it, yes, but once you use a rockband guitar you wont wanna go back. rockbands guitar notes are full length of the guitar.. hard to explain, but its just a lot easier to hit the notes, my hand doesnt hurt after playing for so long. lol. also, rockbands guitar is the size of an actual guitar which is nice.

third.. animation. the animation on guitar hero is so kidish and fake looking. like when i play it it reminds me of nintendo or something really old school. lol. not that nintendos bad or anyting, but thats just what it reminds me of. rockband has more real like animation. when you see someone playing the guitar or drums while your playing, the little person is ACTUALLY playing the right notes and stuff like that. you can fully costamize your own character. unlike guitar hero where you just choose one and you can only change like a color of your clothes and stuff. rockbands more fun in that aspect too.. you have a lot of fun things to choose from.. clothes, shoes, hair, tattoos.. you really CREATE your own character.

four.. game play. rockbands notes flow a lot better and go more with the actual music. theres a lot of good songs on there too and if you have it on the 360 you can dowload new ones when you want too. rockband was actually made by the guy who made guitar hero.. and i think when he made rockband, he knew he should make a lot of changes. lol. i havnt met anyone who likes guitar hero more than rockband. i would definetly get it or trade with your hubby or somethin!!
