How is it possible?

I have PvP disabled right now but I am still being killed by Horde people. I was just hanging out minding my own business down in Ashenvale a few nights ago, then I saw this commotion over in the middle of the town. SO, I walked over and these two horde people were walking around killing guards and players. Then he walks over to me, hits me once and I died. So, I come back to get my body, then he walks over and kills me again. Then I come back and he kills me again. So, finally I just sat there as a wisp without getting my body back, because I was tired of him killing me. Eventually all of the people in the town killed him and he left.

Then this happened again in Elwynn. Some Horde person was raining down these purple fireball things, so I walked over to see what was going on and he killed me.

I have double and triple checked- my name shows in purple, my PvP is set as disabled. So, why oh why are these people able to kill me like that? Damn lvl 70's killing level 23's

Are you flagged? Are you sure it's not a PvP server? I'm not trying to ask stupid questions, but you're right - it doesn't sound right.

What does flagged mean?

The server is a "normal" server, I think you can do PvP on there (I see some people with their names in green) but then I thought if you had your name in purple and had it set as disabled, that you were not flagged. Is there a way to be flagged by someone for some reason, without me knowing about it?

oh Brandi remember I told you thats what happened to Rob when we were much lower levels and this dude was killing the quest people and then he went after Rob and Rob accidentally clicked on him which i think is maybe what happened but then if you didnt click on anyone then I dont think that should have happened. He kept camping Rob cause everytime he came back to get his body the guy killed him again. so we just used our hearthstones to get out of there.

it happened to me before. i was in contested territory, got killed there and when i went back to elwynn (and thought i was safe) i got killed. i think after being in contested territory you're flagged for a certain amount of time. i know my name stays green for awhile even after i'm in battlegrounds.

isn't ashenvale contested territory anyway though? (i think after being in contested territory you're flagged for a certain amount of time. i know my name stays green for awhile even after i'm in battlegrounds.) i haaaaate hillsbrad, i had to leave there for ashenvale because i was getting ganked every 5 minutes by people 20+ lvls higher than me.
