Opening an Account with USAA (questions insode)

Inside* (I was trying to delete "o" and replace it with "i" and pressed enter )

So my boyfriend/fiance and I want to open a joint checking account with USAA. Benefits seem good with it. I was looking at the website, and a couple of questions popped into my mind:

    1) Do you need to be married to have a joint account? Because we are getting married, it'll just be after BMT and job training.
    2) Is there a minimum amount of money needed in the account at all times?

That eases my worries. One more question and I think that'll be it:

When joining and opening an account, will it ask for an option for a joint account, or should we just call USAA and do it over the phone?

I think you should be able to do it online, not to be a wet blanket, but I wouldn't set up joint accounts or other obligations until you get married...

Nah, I don't see it as being a wet blanket, but we've been planning marriage for about a year now. And as soon as he's done with his job training we'll be married. Thanks.
