Okay
First...NEVER EVER give a collection company your bank account info and have automatic payments taken out. Either have this changed so you can send them payments or close that account and open another(normally thats what you have to do bc they will not stop drafting) Second: you need to get EVERYTHING in writing if you both settled on payments you want them to send you a letter with the agreement. Third ...yes they are verbally abusive and don't take it! Let me know if you have other questions. |

Contact the original Credit Card company. And pay them directly. you don't have to deal with a collection agency. which btw they cannot sue you as you don't owe them you owe the CC. You can also tell the collection agency to only contact you vial mail and not to call you anymore.
If you pay the CC they can't stop the collection agency from bugging you, but you won't have to deal with them anymore.

I would close your account with the bank - open a new one.
Call back the collections people and speak to someone ELSE. Better yet, call the original card company. Whatever you agree upon, get it in writing and tell them you will not send payment UNTIL it is agreed upon in writing - you might tell them that upon receipt of the agreement in writing you will pay x amount (if its past the first then tell them that you will send the $400 that would be due ON the first immediately upon receipt of that letter). Thats really all I know to tell you to do hun... sorry you're being harassed by them. |

I don't have any info but I really hope you get this settled. I know debt collectors can be real douchebags sometimes, they treat you like **** just because you fall behind on payments even though your trying to work something out to get your debt paid.

Either call the original credit card company or call the collection company back and speak with a supervisor. Yes you are out the 700 BUT they cannot sue you right now because you have been making payments. They will call you 24/7 if you do not reach a settlement and pay it

My mom flipped out on me when I gave a debt collector my info to make automatic payments. LUCKILY they are so freaking nice and amazing and wonderful at their jobs I haven't been screwed yet. I wish I could just have all my bills go thru them. ![]() Keep us updated, OP. I'm curious how everything works out. I'm going to keep reading the advice here...I have a few bills I could use it for.
