Wasn't sure where to put this...
but, before we moved to Cali, DH's motor blew in his car. He still owes 7,000 on it. We've replaced the motor in it before as well, and he's wanting to trade it in when he comes back from deployment.
Question is though, anyone know of any car dealerships that will take a car with a blown motor or are we better off putting a new engine in it and then trading it in? It's a piece of crap car too. 2001 Ford Taurus. ![]() I've tried doing research, but, nothing is coming up. I know that we'll bring what we don't get from his car to another one, and we're both aware of that. Any insight anyone can offer would be wonderful!! |

you won't get a dealership to take a car that doesn't run. Not to mention if you owe way more than what blue book is worth on a mint car. kwim
even selling it privately you won't get what you owe. Best thing to do is fix it and pay it off/down as much as you can then see about trading it in.

unless the dealer is having one of those drive/push-pull-tow sales... The ones in Corpus had those a couple times a year. They'd supposedly accept ANY trade in, running or not.

I know, it just sucks all the way around. If it's not one thing in that damn car, it's another. |
