Tracking your spending

The want vs need post made me think about this.

I have started doing this, it's on of my financial New Years resolutions.
Every day I write down how much I have spent and what/where I bought the stuff.
My goal is to have a lot of "no-spend" days.

I am hoping that this will help me spend less and think about if I want or need stuff and go easy on the "wants".

Anyone else do this?
