Few questions about cashiers check
1. Is it the same as a money order?
2. Can I get one at a bank that I don't bank at? (Like Wells Fargo? We have a CC from there, but bank with USAA) 3. Can I use a debit card to pay for one? For some reason I thought it had to be cash, but I can't withdraw $1800 in one day... TIA for your help!

1. Is it the same as a money order? not really.. money orders usually have a limit, at our bank money orders can be made for up to $1000. cashier's checks are also usually considered more guranteed because the bank will type up the payee and remitter and the bank representative will actually sign the check
2. Can I get one at a bank that I don't bank at? (Like Wells Fargo? We have a CC from there, but bank with USAA) if you have a credit card there they might consider you to be a customer. probably not... we only make cashier's checks for non-customers to replace a check that a customer wrote to them and we charge them $15 for that. i would reccomend opening an account somewhere convenient for you to use along with your usaa acct 3. Can I use a debit card to pay for one? For some reason I thought it had to be cash, but I can't withdraw $1800 in one day... if it's a visa or mastercard they might do a cash advance for you. we can do that... TIA for your help! ![]() i hope that helps! |
