i feel really bad...DH just left for Basic Training Nov 19th & hasn't got paid yet...the 1st paycheck he gets has to go to his plane ticket to get home for Xmas Break...We cant afford to get anyone [including each other & our son] gifts...Its so sad...I feel sooo bad Because of this Im just not looking forward to the Holidays at all....I mean i cant wait for my Husband to get home but-- god...why does it have to be like this right around Xmas........Please Pray 4 Me to get through this Horrible Holiday....This is kinda a "vent" but it has to do w/ financial so.....

Y'all should get paid on the 15th, too...but call DFAS to make sure. It took them two months to get us the first paycheck

I'm sorry girl. It'll be OK. I'm sure Noel (that's your DS right?) won't notice too much about the lack of presents, if you spend time with him and let him know WHY...

Gifts are not what this season is about anyway... it's OK

Thanks...Im sure Noel wont really notice...His blood father will have presents for his as well as my mother whom we live with...But i feel bad not getting him anything...I know gifts dont make the holiday...thats why im not really really upset..jus a lil sad...

yea...he left the 19th of Nov & they said his 1st pay will be the 19th of Dec...& i have no clue when our BAH will come...god- why do they take so long to do everything......How do you call DFAS..lol...Would he even be in there if he's never been paid from them yet?

Just spend time with him... make up a new tradition, bake some cookies, read a book... doesn't matter... as long as mommy spends time with him, that's the best present there is. It's true. Whether this or any other Christmas, when he looks back, he probably won't remember all the presents, but he'll remember the cool things you all did together around the holidays.

yea i suggest call DFAS they like to look over things and it is a pain to get money from them
