What is the total you pay each month for groceries? - Financial Management

Kind of a spinoff of the food stamps/groceries debate that we just had...

What is the total amount you typically spend on groceries when your whole family is at home (meaning, your significant other is at home and not deployed, all kids are at home, etc)?

This is per MONTH for GROCERIES, not cleaning supplies, diapers, etc.

If you typically buy diapers, cleaning supplies, etc with your groceries, just give the nearest estimate you can for what you think you spend just on grocery/food/cooking items.

400-700 a month. Depending on the month and what is on sale and where I shop. that does include all the sad little side shopping that happens too.

We shop twice a month and I work very hard to keep my total bill (for grocery, pet items, hygene items, cleaning supplies, etc) under $200 per trip. With a little fudge factor I spend no more than $450 per month total. If you take the non-grocery items out of the equation I would say we spend about $300 a month on food/groceries.

$400-$500.. Depends on if we've used up a lot of stuff or not. I never spend less than $400 in a month on groceries now that we're out here in CA.

$300-400. It's hard to tell because we always have to buy animal stuff and diapers or something.

I spend about $600-$700 a month. Our son is almost 15 yrs old and is eating alot more now.
