Basically it's a savings account, the interest on it it very high as far as savings accounts go. I like it because it's not as easy for me to get the money out of as my reg. savings account- less temptation for me to make impulse spending! It takes a couple days to get my money out vs immediately from my reg.savings.

That was what my dad put a majority of my "college fund" in for investing - it's a GREAT savings account that earns higher than average and higher than inflation interest - which is great! I never actually "used" the account, but I know that my dad would recommend it!

I use it as well. You can set up transfers from your primary account to this account. You can also transfer back, but it does take a couple days, which is great if you are an impulse shopper. While SO is in Iraq, almost all his money is going into an ING account. It is considered online banking, there is not concrete building you can go into.

I love my ING account too. I have an automatic withdrawl after the 15th's payday, and it is good for me that I can't have an ATM card or checks for accessing the money. I think the only way to access the money is to transfer it back to one of your 'regular' accounts, so you need a couple of days notice.
