Netflix - 13 Reasons Why **Spoilers**

Is anyone watching this? I saw something on FB that was like don't watch it that there were some touchy subjects. But it seemed interesting.

I'm on episode four now. It's definitely crazy and it's crazy how these small things can have such a profound affect.

I read the book about a year ago and thought it was AMAZING!! I had at one point looked it up to see if they were going to make a movie out of it and saw that there was a Netflix series coming. I'd actually forgotten about it until I saw it pop up on my netflix the other day and then lost my mind with excitement!!

I think the series is ok, I feel like they added a lot to the story that was sort of out there and took away from the weight of what Hannah reveals on the tapes but I've watched it twice now so obviously I like it

I would HIGHLY recommend reading the book though because it's amazing!

It's about a girl who commits suicide and then tapes pop up to a friend of hers where she recorded all the reasons why it led to her death. It has story after story of what happened and the small actions of others and how they affected others. Pretty sad.

I want to read the book now for sure! So far it's been really good!

I watched it. I didn't love it. It was slow and overly dramatic (not trying to diminish her feelings, but I mean dramatic in the like....drawing everything out SO slowly before you get an idea of what's going on...like the refusal to tell Clay what his role was, etc...). But I liked it enough to finish it, and then I was fascinated that the actress who plays Hannah is actually British in the behind the scenes episode

I saw in one of my facebook groups that people were upset by how they portrayed things. I guess the production crew interviewed doctors and specialists for recommendations on how to portray such a difficult topic, and then they didn't listen at all. The main example given was suggesting they not actually show the suicide since it can trigger people with self harm/suicidal thoughts. I thought it was fine, but I'm not suicidal so I probably would've gone with the experts opinions on that type of thing.

it doesn't unravel that slowly in the book, there's not as much outside interaction it's pretty much just Clay following the map and listening to the tapes which makes it more dramatic and powerful. I didn't like that they added all the stuff that made it feel like Secret Life of a Teenager...

I watched it in one day. I was really into it and couldn't stop. I'm going to read the book. I'm curious if they will come out with more episodes though

I have a feeling they are going to roll with more from Tyler given how the last episode ended...

I might give the book a try then. It was definitely interesting, and I think your right about Tyler. That was such a random scene if they don't follow up on it
