    Wands up.

Technically, he didn't say it...he wrote it in a letter that was published in Empire magazine's Harry Potter special edition that came out when the last movie came out.

This hit me hard. He was such a great actor. I usually don't much care about celebrity deaths, but this one, Heath Ledger and Robin Williams were hard for me to deal with.

I also just saw that Celine Dion's husband died today of throat cancer at 73. Geez. Cancer sucks!!

Im so in love with you hunny. I know I have never felt this powerful of a love before, I have only thought it was possible for those rare lucky few. And now I think we have it. Or are we just now part of the lucky rare few? XOXO Love you hun. -DH 9/8/11

Add me into the "cancer sucks" boat. I have been so upset about this today. He played Snape so well and brought a very complex character to life. He was just an awesome actor all around.

Actually some teenager on tumblr wrote it and it ended up on some image macros and people have been attributing it to Alan Rickman ever since

I'm pretty upset over this. He was such a great actor, and from what i've read, a great man. I've been in tears all day. This is just so sad.. and I almost just don't believe that he's gone, ya know?

He was a great actor, even when he was playing villains. The movies that I can recall seeing him in, (besides the Harry Pottor films and Sense and Sensibility) were also Die Hard and Quigley down under. He was good even in silly comedies like Galaxy Quest. He will be missed.
