    *this may have spoilers*

What is the actual hell, Carnegie Award? This is what wins? Seriously?

That was by far the most depressing book I've ever read. And for 'young adults'? I was reading YA stuff at 12 or so. I hope my one day-will-be-12 year old does not pick this up.
Never do anything halfway unless you want to be half happy.

Is this a dream? If it is, please don't wake me from this high. I'd become comfortably numb
until you opened up my eyes to what it's like when everything is right...I can't believe you found me ♥

Full disclosure, I have not read this book.

I will say though that it seems like the most depressing books I've read have been kid's books. Loss of innocence and other depressing themes are kind of a thing with YA lit (which I think 12 is the general age when kids start reading it so yeah, there's a lot of super sad stuff out there).
