I haven't been keeping up with it. But, it's on now (so no spoilers please). But, why is this lady so detached from her baby? She's one of the doctors, and I guess it's her husband/boyfriend that brought their baby boy to work and she won't even look at the baby.

At the end of last season/first episode of this season she was attacked by a patient that lost her baby. The lady came to Violet's (the DR) house and literally cut the baby out of her and took him. The first episode of this season Violet was in the hospital and they got the baby back. Pete is the baby's father and used to be Violets boyfriend but since the attack she is detached from anything to do with the baby.
