What do you think about the "average Joe" trying to throw his hat into the ring?

The government is 'for the people, by the people'. IMO the average Joe is the one who is supposed to be in government

I wholeheartedly agree. I just remember seeing so much opposition when
Jesse Ventura ran for Governor of Minn. Or Arnold Schw (won't attempt the spelling) for Gov of CA.

I think for both of those two examples it was probably more because of who they were and their persona prior to running for office. Had either been Joe Schmoe from next door it would have been different

I think more average joe people are what the gov't needs.

I do understand that the media played up Jesse Ventura's wrestling persona and Arnold's acting but they did not come from a political background (albeit Arnold was married into one). But I can not think of any "joe's" other than Sonny Bono's wife who has run and successfully won a seat in congress.

It's a grand idea for the people by the people, but it seems that not too many succeed in the venture.

I would not vote for him just because he was a Marine. He has absolutely no political experience or education, he didn't even go to college except for "massage therapy school" which he did not finish. The bottom line is that this guy has absolutely no idea what he is doing. How is he supposed to judge the outcomes of the policies that he is deciding to vote for or against?

Sorry, but being in the military does not make you a qualified politician. Ask Latin America.
