So I went to the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Caroline County health clinic yesterday where Michelle Obama was supposed to be speaking and cutting the ribbon. There were TONS of people there and everyone was so excited to see her there since Caroline County isn't the most prosperous county in VA.
I went there and got a pretty big shock: people holding up "Abortion is not healthcare" signs. While I know that it is freedom of speech, this event was not about abortion, this clinic does not perform abortions so WHY come to Bowling Green on a day thats supposed to be ABOUT helping the poor and uninsured get help and display those signs?! I absolutely do not get it. Everyone ignored them which was a good thing because they had megaphones out and what not, but why find the need to "rain on our parade?!" These uninsured have been waiting for years to get this clinic open! So my opinion: Theres a time and a place for everything and this definitely was not the place.
