Well, after hearing her statements about the war being the will of God, somehow this doesn't surprise me. Wanting to force her religion on everyone seems par for the course with this woman.

I bet if she was Muslim, Hindi, Pagan, or Buddhist people wouldn't be defending her so hardcore. It seems like that kind of thing is only acceptable if it is YOUR religion.

Palin's children attend public schools and Palin has made no push to have creationism taught in them.

We send DS to private Christian school.. I don't care either way what the public schools do.

If it is okay to teach evolution, then I think they should teach creationism. They are both theories to how man kind came to be. Why is it okay to teach evolution, which passively denounces creationism, but not okay to eduacate on the other. It doesn't violate church and state, because it is not pushing a religion or telling one how to worship!

As a candidate for governor, Sarah Palin called for teaching creationism alongside evolution in public schools.

I hope she has backed off for good.

Evolution makes NO CLAIM about creationism. Science makes NO CLAIM about a creator. The only claim science makes is about the PROCESS, not the origin of the process.

Scientific theory and philosophical theory are NOT the same thing. Creationism isn't even a theory in scientific terms. You can't change the definition of theory to suit the ideas presented. If we use the definition of philosophical theory on both ideas then evolution is proven because it has mounds of evidence and creationism is a theory. If we use the definition of scientific theory on both ideas then evolution is a theory and creationism is nothing more than an unprovable and completely unfounded hypothesis. To use one definition of theory for one idea and then use a different definition of it for the other is ridiculous.
