No. I applaud you for not agreeing with the majority. I'm glad you have an opinion. I just didn't see why you couldn't consider the healthy difference of opinion from Cocoa.
So she has an opinion? Instead of getting defensive in disagreement, step back and question why your opinions are so different. You don't have to agree with anyone. You know that. But you don't have to result to insulting language to get your defense of opinion across. You know? Your opinions matched with Cocoa's are actually making me think about my own values and how they should be matched to each presidential candidate. this is only the 2nd election I'm able to vote in, so I look for the healthy differences of opinion to make sure I have my own values in a row. |

And to all of my detractors, calling me a ***** won't hurt my feelings. See my avatar. Obama's name has been mentioned through and through. Do a search. |

Ok, I'm not going to read the whole thread right now.. I just wanted to say a couple things. Her daughter is pregnant. They knew before she accepted the VP nom. What if she discussed this with her daughter, and her daughter wanted her to do it anyways? I know if it was me that was pregnant, I would want her to run still. The good that she has the opportunity to do can outweigh the negative effects. And how would you live with that kind of guilt?
"Oh yeah, my mom had the chance to run for VP, but didn't because I got knocked up". How do you think the child would feel about that when they got older? I think that they delayed telling as long as they could to keep her out of the spotlight as much as possible.

You may not have brought him into it, and that's fine--then I was not speaking of you and you should not be offended. |

I've been reading all the comments on her "selfishness" in accepting the nomination. I personally have not made any decisions and am stil reading on all candidates.
Has anyone considered the possibility that she did discuss this with her daughter and how it would cause the spotlight to fall on her and her pregnancy? Perhaps the daughter decided she wanted her mom to go ahead and accept even with that knowledge and it's not her mom's selfishness at all. Just another thought on the subject.

The only difference (children-wise) between the Obama's and the Palin's is that the Palin's have a pregnant teen - the Obama's don't. In all due regards, they both have young children who will be in the White House with them if it leads that way for either of their families. So in all regards - minus the one pregnant teen who won't be with her parents soon, anyway, their situations are similar with all their other children.
*edit* Sadly, Kaaau, some people don't seem to have considered that.
