Obama's Speech Yesterday, What Did You Think
Sorry if this has been posted about before.
I saw it, and I was blown away. I may not agree with everything he does or says, but that's true of any politician, and I am more on his side than McCain's lately with all of HIS flubs. That speech was so wonderful, it made me feel so warm and fuzzy, regardless of what actually happens. I saw shades of Kennedy, Reagan, and Martin Luther King Jr. (and rightfully so as their "people" have been working with him) It was so amazing to hear a competent orator... and to see the masses in the Tiergarten waving the US flag and cheering. It was nice for someone to acknowledge that the US is not always perfect, and needs to (but can) get back on the right track for collective peace and collaboration. Some people may snipe saying he is "not yet a world leader, so it was a bad move" or "Europeans don't vote in US elections" but still, I think it was very telling and at least somewhat historic. What did ya'll think? |

I was watching the news yesterday while I was waiting at the doctor, didn't hear much about the speech but I did hear that it was a terrible location to have it in.
Don't have an opinion on his speech yet. I guess it was a bad place to have it in. Victory Column |

I think that McCain and his constant goading and challenging Obama to get out and experience the world has come back to bit him on his wrinkled ass.

I totally Agree... plus, the CBS editing thing, when he didn't know what he was talking about... ridiculous... and even more ridiculous that they admitted to it... "newbie in charge" or "accident" or not.

I think the reason why Obama is getting so much media attention, and McCain is being ignored is because the Rupert Murdock machine doesn't have anything spectacular to say about McCain, and everybody else thinks that Obama is a sure bet... so Fox News just reports on what Obama did wrong (he clenched his fist, looked at his wife, didn't look at his wife, etc.,) while the groups that aren't in Murdock's pocket really don't think that McCain is newsworthy...

Even IF he gets elected, I pity his secret servicemen, there will be assassination attempts up the ying yang. And it's sad that people in our country can't accept change and what not, but it's just cold hard fact. I'm more curious to know who his vice president is because it's my honest opinion that if Obama gets elected, he won't sit in office long.

I truly loved his speech. I missed the first part but what I heard I can agree with on many levels. He is a wonderful speaker and knows how to draw in a crowd. As far as the different topics he brought up, I'd need the speech to comment any further on it. I'm really interested to hear what my family thought of the speech. |

Obama's speeches, in general, are full of hot air and I find more and more lately that there's any reality to them - he just goes for emotional stirring and doesn't hav ea lot to back it up.
And that's what's selling these days, apparently. On the other hand I'm anti McCain's junk, too, because he knows nothing of what he's suppose to know all about - at least he'll admit it instead of having his speech rider feed him lines. ![]() Well - guess it doesn't take a genius to realize I don't like either candidate - they both fail miserably in a lot of ways to please me.

I agree. He is a smooth talker, but that is about all it is, talk. I defenitely would not put him on the same level as Reagan. He isn't even close IMO.
