This isn't really a debate, but all the political things seem to end up here anyway.
![]() I feel like I want to like Obama but just have not come across anything yet that makes me want to get behind him. But, I will fully admit that I have not thoroughly researched it. So, help me out Obama fans. Post some links of your favorite speeches that will help me understand. I have a free evening tonight and plan on watching some vids and reading articles. As a disclaimer, I'm really not into that whole chanting, rhetoric-filled crowd stuff... I'd just like to see him discussing the issues. IMO, you can say "We want change" as many times as you want, but that doesn't help me understand your stance on the issues. I really do genuinely want to better understand what he has to say though... just want to cut through that stuff. TIA! |

The best way to find out what Obama believes in is to look at his website and his voting record. Here are a few links for ya.
Website: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/ Voting record: http://www.votesmart.org/voting_cate...hp?can_id=9490 If there are any stances or votes you don't quite understand, you can Google them! Good luck finding what you want to know!

That song was FUNNY. Couldn't stop laughing. I'd search "presidential canidates" and see where they stand on the issues, that's what I did. I was Hillary all the way, but realized that Obama wasn't that far off from her position on the issues, so I felt more comfortable supporting him after realizing I agree more with him than I had originally thought. I try not to look at the stuff the media tries to pin on them (the lies, the rumors, etc). I'm strictly an issue person.

I'm all for researching the links from both sides of the aisle...
I'm sort of in the same predicament you are. I was a Clinton delegate and I'm having a hard time jumping on the Obama train so to speak. However, a lot of his policies are similar to Clinton's and I know that in the end I'll end up voting for Obama. I refuse to vote for McCain despite the enormous amount of respect I have for him. His policies just don't match up as closely with what I support. I definitely don't see myself making a music video on youtube for either of them

Haha... well, I think of his supporters as "fans"... for a lot of different reasons that will probably only get a bunch of people
at me. ![]()
over Obama and I just don't get it. I consider myself moderate but leaning to the right. That leaves a lot of leeway to vote Democrat, but I just don't feel the need to right now. So, I'm trying to figure out what it is that is getting everyone so excited, because I don't see it.Thanks for all your guys' help though. And if you are totally over Obama, feel free to post here telling me why.
