Obama: Bush speech a 'political attack'
President Bush,
So how bout it? I personally think that Bush was speaking from a historical perspective, and not a political one. Most convincing reason is that he was in Jerusalem. Who's campaigning there?? God help me siding with him on things these days. He makes my skin crawl, but honestly.... if he was talking about anyone in particular isn't it more likely to be Jimmy Carter talking with Hamas? I mean Obama took his platform of diplomacy, and direct talks with Amadenawhatshisname of his website a while back now. ![]() Seriously though, I really wonder why Senator Obama threw himself in front of the bus that way? I mean if he had never said anything, no one would be talking about this and probably would not even have made that connection. Now he's opened himself up to speculation of why he was so defensive. Bad move IMO. I would have kept my mouth shut if it were me, or at least hired campaign managers who would have told me to.

oh blah. My gosh can't they just quit blabbing about oh well poor me he said this or poor me she said this. He needs to focus on his damn campaign and not on that fact that he thinks big mean ol bush might be talking about him. Besides there are what like 6 of us left who still support George so really it's not like it will affect his campaign. But if the canidates keep whining like babies it surely will.

I think it is ridiculous. Obama should have just kept his mouth shut unless he is feeling defensive for a reason.....

Oh no..... seriously?
First of all that list is propaganda. The first time I came across this was in one of those retarded mass emails. My opinion is that that list is ambiguous enough for people to be allowed to fill in the gaps and conclude that the US is a fascist country, and that Bush is a fascist. It's deplorable, and disgusting to me. (Not you... I have highly respected several of your opinions... it's this ... not personal) For those intent on comparing Bush's America to previous incarnations of totalitarianism, I would argue that in that sense his vision is more akin to Franco's than to Hitler's. It is an America where the powerful have more to gain from the depoliticization of the populace, the slide into cynical, quiet, apathy, than they do from wholesale mobilization. Bush isn't Hitler. America isn't the Third Reich. That doesn't mean the Bushies are good guys. But they're not in the same psychopathic, criminally insane league as were the Nazi elite. |
