Obama fans
I just wanted to know what people thought about what Barack Obama's pastor has said from the pulpit. I, as a Christian, was appaled. He has been led by this man for 20 years, was married by him, and his 2 daughter's where baptized by him. While, Obama, has said he disagrees with what his pastor has said. he also named his book from a sermon this pastor did.

I think that people are putting to much on it. They are both independent people with different thought processes. Yes he might have been part of that church or married by him but that doesnt mean he has the same exact views that the pastor has. Until he shows that he follows the same views I cant assume he feels the same way, more so since he said he doenst agree. I am not saying that he is 100% innocent but you have to look at who out of the 2 candidates has been doing more of the bad mouthing (from their own mouths) and weigh it out that way. Just because your best friend has a far off different view then you and opens her/his mouth and is out spoken about it, you cant be grouped with them or wouldnt want to. Also the pastor didnt say " Obama said" or " Obama Feels" ...its the pastors words and opinion. You have to seperate the two men and their thoughts.

I can accept that they are 2 different people, but being a Christian, i can understand what a influence the pastor of your church may have on you.

Yeah, i can see what you mean.
I guess, my thing is as a Christian hearing the words he said in the pulpit just shocked and disgusted me. I don't buy that Obama has NEVER heard any of this. Maybe it has only come out because if how close the polls are. IDK. But the pator of Barack Obama's church DID say these things. I mean, for a presidential canidate to be a memeber of a church where the pastor has said "G**D** America", makes me scared honestly! BTW, I respect your point of view as well, I love hearing different points of view. thanks for making it friendly so far!!!

I agree. I dont think that his speech was correct religious or not. Acting on his own free will, he should have known better that those opinions would get out some how. Its just sad that it had to be associated with a presidential candidate. Also I cant get mad for it coming out of Obamas church because there are other churches out there that have probably said the same thing its just not attached to such a prominent person so it stayed within the walls of that facility. Its sad that anyone would feel that way about our country.

the pastor is not running for president. obama cannot control what others say and the pastor in my opinion does not in any way represent obama. i just hope people in general remember that they are two completely separate individuals.

i do think that this pastor represents obama though. for me, i am a member of my church, and no, i can't control what my pastor says. but if my pastor ever said things like obama's pastor did, i would leave and not look back. to me it seems very racist and hateful. JMO.

I would be seriously worried if that man is still his spiritual advisor. Who wants a president whose spiritual advisor says those kinds of things? If he has dropped him and has condemmend his remarks, then I can seperate the two....still don't plan to vote for him though...LOL.
