well, the last election was a "lesser of two evils" type of situation for me. i don't like president bush (i'm just leaving it at that to be civil lol), but i wasn't crazy about kerry. that man waffled like crazy. what i had to do was decide which issues were the most important to me and vote for the candidate who's views were closest to mine (or at least tolerable).
this election is kind of the opposite for me. i have no problems with obama or mccain (or hillary). there are actually a lot of things i like about all of them so i'm having a hard time deciding who to vote for. |

I say vote for someone else. It takes a group of people rallying for change to every change politics, its been done with past elections (yep, a long time ago), but if our founding father's could do it why can't we? I personally like someone who's running (won't say who, it doesn't matter), but I'm all for people voting for someone who's not Dem or Repub to try to force change.

Well for me it will be voting for the lesser of two evils also. For me, I am leaning more towards McCain because I think military experience is so important for a someone who want to be the president. Also, after just finding out that McCain's don returned from Iraq recently, that pretty much seals the deal for me.
Now if it were Hillary vs. McCain, that might be a different story, but Obama vs. McCain, it would have to be McCain.

Well there are other choices besides Obama and McCain, there is Hilliary running, too. Don't like her? Well good ole Ralph Nader is running again! Don't like him either? Well, then do a write in. Find someone that you feel would make a good candidate and write their name in. Voting isn't about voting for the person that's going to win or voting the most popular person, it's about voting for the person you believe in the most; whether they have millions of $$$ for campaigning, or only hundreds.

If you have done your research and don't like either, I think that is acceptable to not vote. It's your choice.
If your research consists of watching commercials *shudder* or if the research is non-existent I sincerely hope that you will not vote. I feel very strongly that only people who are informed should vote. Even if everyone disagrees with me, as long as they know what is going on, I'll deal with the decision. As for me, I still need to do research. I didn't vote in the primaries simply for this reason. I do think that the selection is definitely much better this election. But let me ask you McCain supporters this. How do you feel, as a military spouse, about his stance on Iraq? I've heard him mention how soldiers have told him that they feel that the war in Iraq is the right thing, and some might really believe this. (I'm not even going to get into the whole cognitive dissonance issue...) But if they didn't really believe it, would they really tell him? I mean, I have a lot of respect for the guy, but I don't want him as president. Would it be easy for a soldier to look a former POW in the eye and tell him that he or she thinks his ideas are completely wrong? Maybe they could. I just think that it would be very intimidating.
