Yes I know dangerous at times

But I've been think that as much as I like Obama....I think he can be dangerous...NOT physcially but I think a person who is good with words and good with convincing people of their ideas like he is can be dangerous...I just question what will happen when he ends up in office...will he stick to what he says now or will he convince the masses of other things .....See as educated as some people are in this country we do have a huge mass of idiots who follow the group like lemmings and don't think for themselves and just trust.....

I just get this bad feeling...I think he's got good ideas but he kind of reminds me of Hitler....not that he's going to go and conquer the world and kill innocent people but Hitler was VERY good with words...he could convince the masses.....he was very influencal...so don't think I agree with what hitler did but I do know that hitler was very intelegent and could convince many people of many things.....

Yeah but on the same breath we need a smooth talking president who sounds intelligent and wise, and I think Obama could do that. He's young enough to still be percieved as strong, and with him being a minority, he needs a strong personality, and again, a very strong fluency with words, to earn himself a position of power.

This board just got itself very pissed off a few months ago at the mention of the opposite end of the extreme, when someone mentioned people on here being Kool-aid drinkers. We need someone who can think for himself, not follow along with the masses.

exactly he's smooth talking....and the masses will follow and that can be dangerous is what i'm getting at....he has great qualities to make a good president but I'm worried about what he'll do with the power once he gets it since he is so good with words....

I don't find him to be anything remotely like Hitler either in his method of talking or the way he presents his view points. I would go into who reminds me of that particular leader ATM but thats a whole other debate.

Hitler was not extremely intelligent he was extremely charismatic which are two very different things. He took ideas that were already widely accepted in that day and age and then expanded on them.

He rallied the German people behind a cause, that all of their problems where because of the Jewish people. Once united in defending themselves from the threat it was very easy to enact laws that seemed to be for the German peoples own good when in reality they wereto their greatest disservice. He used Nationalism as one of his tools, fear was the other. He worked on the Germans fear and misunderstanding of the Jewish people. He also expanded on the prejudice that was already rampant at that time. He took advantage of thoughts and feelings that were already around. So again while a very powerful public speaker he was not someone historians feel was highly intelligent, he was however opportunistic.

I can only think of one American leader that thinks along a similar wave length and its not Obama.

It's not...so many people think of hitler just in the "evil" things he did...and believe me what he did was atrochious....but he was highly charasmatic and influencal and people listened and followed and people are doing that now....a lot of them blindly...you may not like my analogy but if you pick apart hitler...take away the horrible things he did and look at the brain power and where he came from it's mind boggling how he convinced people to do things....I'm just saying that Obama has cult like followings...and I don't trust him....
