A question only for people voting dem this election
I was wondering if you like Clinton, what appeals to you more about her than Obama? And if you like Obama, what appeals to you more about him than Clinton?
Specifically, please, because I think this will help some of us who are sort of teeter tottering back and forth between the two. What issues made you decide who your pick was and what exactly about those issues turned you away from the other candidate?

I will most likely vote dem this election. I do not like HIlary for the plain and simple fact that she touts herself as a person dedicated to the people and the people only, but in reality, she is a corporate puppet. She cannot say no to them.

Like I said in the other one..
I think that they agree on most of the issues at hand. They just have different ways they want to handle them. I choose Clinton because she had what, 8 years in the White House, 7 years in the Senate, and has been on major committees. She knows what she is doing and I think if you want either one of them, you want a lot of the same things. I feel more comfortable with someone who I think can get it handled quicker based on her first hand knowledge of how things get done. |

Well as far as Obama goes, i see it this way. A president as far is power is considered is more of a figure head, a reprenstation of our country to other parts of the world. The people that do most of the work is a proper cabinet and i think both would have good hand in choosing a good team. I don't see Hillary Clinton representing our country well, and what we look like to other countries, and this is actually more important that you think. Espically when you go to europe and people "hate americans" (Trust me i experienced this first hand) There is something about Obama's prescense the way he talks, the way he motivates, like the new JFK. He's the change we need in this country, youth, energy and DRIVE! Also i heard him talk about plans to end the war in Iraq and start getting troops out by 09, and now that i have investments in the military, this is a huge thing for me. We really shouldn't be there.

The thing that clenched it for me was the fact that I feel Obama lied to Nevada. We have this Yucca Mountain nuclear power dump here that he has voted for in the past. When he came here he said that he was against waste being dumped in Yucca. But he voted yes on **** Cheneys energy bill that would create more nuclear power plants and has said that he thinks nuclear power is the solution. Um, great, so he wants more nuclear power and doesn't want to dump it in NV? Just to be clear, I really don't care about this issue. However, it made me feel like he lied to Nevada just to get votes.
I also get annoyed because he says he was against the war from the beginning. That may be true, but he was not in the senate in 2002 to vote against it. That is a little misleading. I just haven't seen anything from him that makes me believe he can accomplish the change he says he wants. Healthcare is my main concern in this election and Hillary has an awesome record on family issues and has always tried to get healthcare passed. I think she has the best chance of getting it done. Honestly, I think Obama isn't ready to be president yet. He has great rhetoric, but he hasn't proven that he can actually do anything. Hillary has.

Oh I would never not vote for someone because I was scared they would be assassinated. lol. Obviously they know that its a possibility and they are willing to risk it. They have secret service and everything I don't get why anyone would be concerned when ANY president has a chance of being assassinated.

I am tottering between the two, also... but my gut tells me to vote for Hillary.
I am honestly unsure though! And I have NEVER not had a very strong opinion about who I want to vote for at election time. As long as Bush is gone, I guess I can deal with any of the canidates, even McCain. |
