Hillary and Military Families?

I've noticed that Hillary looks to be leading all of the polls right now and, quite frankly, I think she has a very good chance at winning. All other things aside, I want to know if her winning scares any of the military families, as far as how the military will suffer? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe military funding will be one of the first places she would want to cut funding, and didn't Bill Clinton not give any military pay raises the whole time he was in office? I wonder if she would follow suit and also not give any pay raises, and possibly cut in other areas also.

It sort of worries me that she has a good chance of winning, based on the fact that we are a military family and I really worry that we will suffer big time.

Am I off base? Can anyone clue me in to something I may not know or may be confused about? Jason doesn't talk politics very often, but even he's mentioned a few times that he and a lot of the guys at his command are worried about her making it into office for this reason.

Chuck is the same way.

It totally worries me for ALL of our military and veterans as well. I just do not feel good about it at all if Hillary wins.

It's just one thing I found and it answers one of your questions about Bill Clinton. I didn't look up anything else on him, though, so I don't know if this was a one time thing, or whether 2% was low back in 1996, or anything like that.

I don't know that the article is actually Pro Clinton (Bill) either, since he vetoed the DoD authorization bill, but I was only reading it about the raise he asked for.

The thing is... I like Hillary, so she doesn't scare me. But then, we are not lifers yet and we may or may not be. If it so happened that he couldn't stay in, then we wouldn't be upset about that. I can understand the lifers being upset and worried though.

To be honest, I don't know what she'll do with the military... so it's hard for me to know what to think about that issue right now.

Can you link me? Not that I think she and he will be identical in how they run things, but Jason is under the impression that he didn't ever do raises while in office. So, I'd like to see something that says otherwise so I can show him that!

I remember what Bill did to our military, I am very scared she will do the same thing.

I wasn't sure, but a quick Google search popped up several different pay raises approved by President Clinton, 1996, 1999, and 2000 were the first 3 articles I found. I stopped looking after that. So I'd say those concerns are a little off base.

But I wouldn't count out Obama just yet. Clinton made a big splash "winning" Florida, but those delegates don't have a vote at the convention. No one even campaigned there. We'll see how next Tuesday plays out.

We closed more military bases with Bill Clinton than with any previous president, so if Hillary is going to go the same route it scares me for our military families!

Well, being as I am so young and had absolutely NOTHING to do with the military while he was in office, can anyone tell me what exactly happened that was so bad? I honestly don't know and it is mostly second hand info that I'm getting but that second hand info scares me. As I said, my husband doesn't do politics, so hearing him voice his opinion about how he is worried about Hillary really worries me. Aside from that though, I don't really know what Bill did or why Hillary would be bad for the military.
