Honestly... I don't really care for the man. I can't put my finger on it, but something about him rubs me the wrong way.
In my opinion, he comes across as very narcissistic and cocky. I think he's the kind of person that would annoy the crap out of me if I had to hang out with him. ![]() I could be totally wrong though... maybe he's a genuinely nice guy. I'm just not impressed with how he presents himself. |

He's had my support from the beginning, even in '04.
He's smart, he's got experience, has over come adversity, is a progressive leader, was the first candidate to put out a layman's policy manual. He takes the road less traveled, and while he may seem somewhat "pie in the sky" he has a WAY to make things work. I was in IA around Caucus time... the other too were copying him right down to ad presentation and stump speeches as the thing got closer. He always does well in the debates, and has not changed his position so much that you can't get a straight answer... but he acknowledges changes and his mistakes from 04 and in the past. He's a fighter, and an underdog... and I really really like him, do I agree with everything? Of course not, but he makes me excited about politics again... and he gives me hope for the future of our nation... He was indirectly influencing public policy before he ever set foot in public office by being a trial attorney not afraid to fight for the little man, and take cases no one said could be won. He shares similar roots as I do, and I admire that. I've seen him speak to HS students, and not treat them like they are stupid... which is something that is wonderful. He takes responsibility for himself, his actions, and his campaign, and is not afraid to venture out of a comfort zone and call someone on their BS... (but he is still respectful.) Even if most people don't realize he's the real deal, and are blinded by dollar signs and celebrity, and follow what the Mainstream Media says. This thing is far from over.

LOVE him. I don't see him as cocky Heidi, I see him as ANGRY which I think a candidate needs to be if they are actually going to CHANGE anything. Obama is nice and inspirational, but he never really seems to be riled up which makes me question if he is just giving us lip service. If they really want change, then it stands to reason they would be pissed about the things they want to change being the way they are now, right?
Anyway, I love him. I have since he ran with Kerry. I am sad that he isn't doing better in the polls and I hope that whoever gets the nomination picks him as their Vice. I agree with his economic strategies (which he outlined like a year ago and now all of a sudden the administration is talking about how we need the same kind of "stimulus" program to fix the economy since the recent stock market problems), I agree with his healthcare stance, I agree with his social stances, I agree with his stance on the war and his plan to get out of it.... I think I align the most with him out of all of the candidates still in the race. I don't agree with him on the death penalty, and I wish he was for gay marriage instead of just civil unions, but I don't expect to agree with anyone about everything.

Some people may mistakes confidence as cockiness and arrogance... but I think, at least in Edward's case, it's misconstrued. (certain not always is it that way though, and their are arrogant pompous people in office who think they are better than the people they represent, which is why we can get nothing done... or at least a good chunk of the reason) Obama pisses me off because he gives back handed compliments, and Clinton, well, she's just a *****.
