I certainly haven't. He is in Afghanistan- you know the country right? The one where this war started? I know the number of US soldiers there is about a 6th of the number in Iraq but those 30,000 men and women have people at home waiting on them as well. This is to the media, to the politicians, to the anti-war or pro-war activists . . . please don't forget the man I love, I know I certainly won't.

Sorry for being such a downer- I am really missing him today.

My DB actually brought that up when his command was making some oorah US speech. He said that he thinks the average person in the US doesnt care. Not that they dont care what they are doing, just that they never think about them and the sacrifices they make....such as being "alone" (I put quotes because we all know how much we are there for them!) for the past 8 months.

I agree..we are reminded of it everyday and I guess they just dont think about it...if only they could live one day in our shoes and then maybe they wouldnt forget so easily!

I think they should bring all our men and women home to their wifes/Husbands and families safe and sound and just end this war. But I am sure I am not alone there.

There was a girl I met on the plane, an American- who didn't even know troops were still in Afghanistan. Then she asked where I was moving to, and I said "Fort Hood".. and she was like.. where is that? I'm like Tx, you havn't ever heard of Fort Hood? And she was like- Nope.. and then I said.. It's only the largest US military base in America.. and she was like .. oh ok right.

I agree- I don't think the average American cares at all. I know alot do. Especially here in Tx.. there are so so so many patriotic people. But yeah.. dunno about the rest of the states.

I miss mine too hun my eyes are blurry, and the skin around them stings, i have cried so much tonight. it will get better. we just gotta wait for that getting better part to happen.
