The Love Dare during Deployment?

Didn't know if you knew about this link, but this is what DF and I did. We didn't do one everyday, we tried to do one every other day or so. It was nice and this site made it so much easier.

for others, the love dare is the book that the movie Fireproof was based on. the movie sucked ass, but i'm all for trying to make a relationship stronger. it's a book that gives you things to think about and do in your relationship every day for 40 days to help you feel closer.

You're Welcome! If you want more book suggestions for during deployment almost anything by Sara Horn was really good. She got me through this deployment. Lol.

I did it while DH was in the field.

I had to modify some of the dares, but it really helped our marriage. As I did it, I journaled everything and gave him the journal at the end. He loved it.

I haven't thought about it while DH has been gone.. I would rather him be home!

Hmm I've never heard of it and now I'm intrigued. Me and my hunny are getting married this Aug and it sounds like something nice we could do together before then. Especially since we email everyday, it wouldn't be hard to keep up on. Would I send him a copy too?

I think you can do it either way. Traditionally (I thought), one spouse does it and the other doesn't know about it. That's how it was in the movie anyway ... although I agree with the PPs that the movie was not good.

When I did it, I didn't tell DH until it was done.

I didn't do it during deployment but I did do it when DH was a geobach. I didn't tell DH about it until we watched the movie together.

i want to do this! Even though he is not deployed anymore- we are long distance (well not so long- just 3 hours), this will be fun!

I did The Love Dare while DH was deployed. I only got to day 14 or so, but it made a huge difference.
