bad news all over - During Deployment

DF emailed me today telling me that communications are blocked because they lost a soldier. He got to use his friend's internet. He usually calls me every day, so he thought I'd be worried. Then all this insanity started happening at Fort Hood. I can't even read or watch any more news about it, it's so sad. I'm just praying for that soldier over there and everyone at Fort Hood, too.

I know I'll feel better once I hear his voice again because I know he must feel so bad.

Im sorry you arent able to talk to you man. Its definitely one of those days when you want to be as close as possible to those we love. Such a sad day my prayers go out to those at Hood too. This is where DB is out of and I havent been able to talk to him yet either to see how he is feeling about it all, but I know itll be a mixture of anger and sadness

I haven't heard from Daniel and I normally talk to him twice a day. I'm worrying. Ugh. Glad that you got forewarning from your guy! Hope you're doing well Dee!

My heart is heavy too... a lot has happened today. My thoughts and prayers are with so many. I hope you get to hear from him soon.

Thanks so much, girls...I'm feeling a little better because DF just called. He feels better hearing my voice too. It was sad for him losing that soldier, and he didn't even know yet about Fort Hood because of the comms going down. I read the news to him from the internet and he couldn't believe it. I'm just glad he's safe and doing okay. Hope you and your SO's are all doing okay too.

I remember the first time DH and I went 3 days w/o talking. He then told me that it was a death over there so they had to cut all communication so I understand, it's just such a sad day.

it's always hard not hearing from our SO's, we have to remember that no news is good news. it's definitely not easy, but sometimes it can put a wandering mind at ease.

I sort of understand what you're dealing with here. I missed DH when I woke up this morning, but the tragedy of Ft. Hood has magnified that by a ton. I'm not sure how the two are linked in my mind but as I feel broken hearted for those families, I keep wishing DH was here... maybe to just have someone to hang on to in this scary time.

Here's hoping you hear from him very soon.
