He has no faith in me?

I had an odd conversation with my DB this morning.

We were just chatting like normal, catching up..and then we kind of ran out of things to talk about. Sadly, I haven't had much going on and he hasn't either.

I said "so it's getting close to you being there for a month. I think I have handled this pretty dang well. I really haven't had any break downs"

DB said "yeah well it's only been a month and I haven't really done anything. We haven't gone a while without talking"

Me "oh well the I have heard the first month is really hard."

Then the convo kind of tapered off to something else.

But what the hell? Do you think that the amount of time you have been gone has been sooooo easy? Do you not have faith that I can do this? Are you really being an ass?

So what it's only been a month, but it's a month of one phone call at 3 am every couple of days that last for 5-10 minutes. Going from talking everyday for hours, texting each other...constantly know what each other are doing to this.

A MONTH IS AN ACCOMPLISHMENT FOR ME, JUST LIKE TWO MONTHS, AND THREE AND FOUR...AND HOMECOMING.

I dont get it. Has anyone else's SO thought the first month was no biggy?

I think it's more of a word of caution. DF was glad that I was doing so well the first month, but he wanted me to know that he was going to be going out on long missions and it would be harder. He didn't want to sugar coat it and let me think this was as bad as it would be and then have a major freak out when it changed.

That's true. I guess I was looking more for a pat on the back. If that is what he was thinking, he could of said "yay, but don't get ahead of yourself because it will get harder. but one month down is geat"

I agree. Congatulations on the month but it is a little more difficult not talking to them on a regular basis. Keep your chin up.

OP, I agree with the others...DB said something similar I think...I remember feeling the way you do I think he knew I'd handle it like a trooper but wanted me to keep in mind it was only just starting.

My db thinks that when I act like I'm okay its because I don't care. But he's just being a butthead

I'm pretty sure any normal guy is just trying to have you not get ahead of yourself. Hell everyday is an accomplishment but I don't think they see it like that. A month is a long way to come, especially the first month so

Yeah, I think he has the confidence in me, but it is always nice to hear to reaffirm that. He knows I am a very strong and confident person, but I have never been in a situation like this. But I'll make it through...and then gosh darn it he better give me some recognition

I agree with the other ladies, I don't think he meant it in a mean way, just more of a cautioning way.
