grr good and bad.. - During Deployment

Well the good news is we are almost at the halfish way point. That feels great and R&R is around the corner..

the no so great news is now they are moving.

I am so not good w/ change. I do'nt get to talk to DH a lot now, but it's semi predictible and he has internet in his room. We get to talk when he is in. No phone calls cause the phones are a long way way, but we do yahoo. NOW they are moving. He was packing when I talked to him today. I know it's normal, happens a lot and all that, but I still don't like it.

I hear the new place doesn't have as great internet. This is our only way of communication so that worrys me. Basically for some reason 3 other platoons in his company moved a few months back and they kept his platoon at the old place.. now they decide to move them to the new place too. I am sure it'll be totally fine, but I hate the uncertainty.. feels like it did when he first left. Wondering if we'll get to talk much and how it'll all work. I think he'll be doing the same job as he does now because the FOBs are not far apart, but it's just a matter of where they sleep not changing jobs. WHy even bother moving them.

Oh and I have heard the new FOB has a few more shopping options. DH is a spender and well this might not be good.

I'm sorry. I know it sucks.
DB is moving to a different FOB in Afghanistan (it may be new because he keeps talking about building things and burying fiber optic cable). The internet sucks and cell service is worse.

And fingers crossed that the communication doesn't suck where he's going. Maybe he'll have a better chance of calling you at the new place?

DH just moved to a new FOB a couple weeks ago.. yes the communication does suck more and it took some time and

getting used to it. But now we have our new routine and though I was used to hearing his voice every day and now all I get is IM and it's wayyy slow I'm beginning to adjust

Thanks girls. I think the nice part of him being at the old place is it was only 1 platoon there so WAYYYY less drama. I tell ya hte drama factor is through the roof. The girls screwing the guys is the main thing. They had seperated a few of them that were doing things by having the be at one FOB and hte other be at the other. Also most everyone higher up was at the new place so it was comfy at the old place.. LOL Now I have a feeling it'll be back to drama again.

That would be great if he could call more. WE do the voice chatting w/ yahoo so I do get to hear and see him now, but phone calls would be great. I know it'll all be fine, but I am such a creature of habit and change just freaks me out. The good news is we are half way so if it really stinks we only have half the time to deal w/ how crappy it is and if it's better then maybe the time will go faster.

i totally know how you feel! this is the second time DH will be moving. for the past month or so we've been able to talk 1-3 times a week on the phone and a few times a month on yahoo messenger. he doesn't have internet access on his computer so he has to go to the phones if he wants to use a computer that has internet.

this new place he will be going to doesn't have ANY phones OR computers to use internet

they will have to build the phone center. so who even knows how long it'll be before we get to talk again

i'm pretty bummed out at this point.
