Tiger cruise...
I talked to MIL today and she said that J mentioned something about a Tiger cruise to her. That's all she said, so I have no idea what he said about it... I thought that tiger cruises were for kids? J has no kids... I'm guessing maybe he just said that it's coming up.... or sometihng, I really dont know....
Can anyone tell me exactly what a tiger cruise is? Thank you!!! |

parents can go on tiger cruises also...just not SO's! My explanation is gonna suck but I'll do my best...Tiger cruise is usually the last week or so of cruise, not exactly sure what they do but activites and flying and such all week. I'm sure some of the other ladies can explain it better!

The Tiger Cruise is for family or friends of the personnel on the boat, but no SO's. Certain people will fly home from the last port they go to (I know in California it is generally Hawaii) and then the "Tigers" will get on. I am not sure what exactly goes on during the Tiger Cruise as I have never been on one however I know that the "Tiger" gets to follow their service member around to the day to day things that they do. They usually last about a week and I have heard that they are really fun and enjoyable. At the end of the cruise they get of with the service member.

Anybody who passes the screening can go on a tiger cruise. The only exclusion is the members SO. There is a medical screening that has to be done by the interested parties doctor. The screening then goes to the MO on board the ship. The tiger then flies to the last port before coming home.
There may be info posted on your ships website regarding the details of your ships Tiger Cruise. For our last deployment the paperwork had to be turned in 3 months prior to the cruise. |
