I can't get used to saying goodbye.
We're dealing with forced separation, though not deployment. He comes home on pass for 3-days or 4-days, or like when he came home on convalescent leave...and then is gone again. It's a yo-yo cycle. And,
, he left again today.

My DF and I were separated for 11 months and it wasn't a deployment. We just didn't have the money to move me up there yet. We saw eachother 3 times during those months, so I feel your pain. Now he's deploying in a couple weeks
. You are stronger than you think you are though. Hang in there and I am always here if you need me!

I know the feeling. Dh was gone for 2yrs and I hated it but at least we got to see each other and as much as it sucks having to say goodbye just as fast as saying hello, the time will come when you two are together again and for good. Just try and it take it day by day.

I know, goodbye really sucks. I hate it. DB and I are separated too and it's not a deployment. He's in training in AZ and I'm in school in CA. We've been doing this for almost 7 months now. It sucks. I still haven't gotten used to it. If you need to talk I'm here.

it will get easier. DH and I have been seperated for about a year and a half. 7 months of it was a deployment and the rest of it was bc of him being stationed to a new duty station. I am working on my bachelors in san antonio, tx and it would be dumb of me to just pick up and leave (especially bc there are no comparable schools in his area). So we are long distance until i can go to grad school closer.
We see each other about every 2-3 months unless he is deployed. He deploys in about 2 weeks so right now I am having to say bye again. Don't look at it as a goodbye- look at it as a see ya next time. I usually cry a lot when he first leaves and i kind of get over it after a few hours. Hang lots of pics of you two in your home. my apartment is COVERED with pics of us so i am constantly around him. *sort of* |
