Family Grams are strange
The form is strange; the concept is strange; the whole sound of what I'm writing is strange.
I feel like I'm filling out a military Mad Lib. And I think it's worth it to send one of my 5 alloted, but I'm doubting myself. What if more important things come up, and I run out of them? ![]() ![]() Does anyone else still use these?

we never did just because of logistics, but if there was an emergency or something important the red cross is always there. I don't think i even sent one when I had ODD Dh happened to be in korea and had a phone in his room

OMG when I was all of like hmmmmmmm 23 my BF was on a sub and we used them to write the sexiest funniest dirtiest things we could get away with w/o saying anything really dirty. He said they used to have contests to see what girls could get the nastiest w/o writing something that was unallowed like I can't even remember what i wrote but maybe something about a trip the the dentist
He put this long hard tool deep into my mouth. I moaned as he moved it back and forth LMAO... I know totally NOT what you're supposed to do but I recall it being so funny to come up with sh*t

I've heard some crazy things about using them for dirty messages!
![]() Since we won't have email much, they have reintroduced the family gram for non-emergencies. We still have to go through the red cross for emergencies, and through the command for anything super important. But I get five, and I thought it would be good to let him know I got my plane ticket for the next port call, since we don't have email. But we've just barely started, so I also feel like it's too soon to start using up family grams. 50 words is so short! I'm usually write like 50 PARAGRAPHS!

I felt like I was writing the same thing every time. I was careful about what I said because I wanted to make sure he got it.
And that it wasn't read in fromt of anyone. They totally remind me of mad libs too
