DB's leave was amazing, we ran up a huge airline bill
but were able to see each other a lot more than we originally thought we would be able to. It really was perfect! So saying good bye the second time was way worse than the first time. He dropped me off at the airport and watched me go through security on the way back from his parents house before he got on his flight and OMG...it the worst image ever. I'm crying going through security he's crying watching me till he can't see me anymore.I'll be okay, I'll get through it and we will be stronger for it all. BUT I am a complete mess right now. I'm going through the motions but all the while there are tears behind my eyes. The first half of this deployment I had it pretty well together (I have my days but all in all it wasn't so bad), I had a routine and way of thinking about it all that got me through. I feel like as much as I loved every single second of having him in my arms that this horrible feeling is going to hang around longer for the second half. Goodness I hope not...Because I really feel terrible. I just want him home where he belongs. The time home was perfect and I wouldn't ever take a second of it back but god this hurts! ![]() K thanks..I needed to get that out.

Leaves are the worst.. the greatest but the worst. My first deployment I got a guest pass to go back to the gate to watch him board and I was fine until he walked through those doors and I couldn't see him anymore. I was still fine until this little old lady came up to me and patted my shoulder and said "No one said it would be easy".. I completely unloaded on her and cried my eyes out. Pathetic, I'm sure to everyone else stading in the airport, but right then, she was right where she needed to be. Don't worry, the days will get better, and sometime soon you'll be wondering where the time went. I know that doesn't make sense now, but it will.

Awwww
I hate it so much. My worst time was when I was rushed on a train, so we barely had time for goodbye. I thought I was all together, and I looked in the station and he was signing I love you with tears running down his cheeks. I think I cried half of the train ride home. Not too much longer now.

You know, I've had those thoughts too.. When DB leaves from R&R, he'll be headed back to another year deployment. *sigh* But then I shake myself and say, "let's worry about that another day, shall we?" (this is my Scarlet O'Hara impression)
I have to believe that feeling you're feeling WILL pass and things will return to "normal." Hang in there!

Him watching you go seems to be a lot harder. I mean I seriously hated leaving DH at the airport. I was in tears for three days ... I couldn't even work... BUt you get back into that "pre-leave" routine and it will get better.
Plus you can always come on a ***** here. THank god for SOS It's really great!

I totally agree, leaving DB after leave was soooooo much worse than the first time. I cried so much more the week or so after leave
Not to mention my unstoppable tears on my flight home I found it took me a little longer to rebound from leave than I did when he first left, but you will still get better ![]() And the good thing is the next time you see him he will be home for longer and it will be over with
