    Feeling down

    Advertisements
My husband says I'm the strongest woman he knows and I know I am strong but he will be gone for a year and some days are truly harder than others. Today was one of them. We have been here 3.5 years and I haven't really made any close friends. I feel extremely alone in those moments I am not keeping myself busy. I don't have any family around and I can't really count on them for support which I haven't tried much anyways. I just need a little support and a place to express how I'm feeling with people who would understand.

Stay strong. You can do this! Take it one day at a time.

Have you gotten involved with any command FRG's or anything? That might be a good place to start finding people who understand.

You're allowed to have tough days! Take them in stride, and tomorrow is a new day.

I'm sorry you are having a tough time. Tough days are par for the course as you know, but it's how you pull yourself out of those days that count!

Even if you are tough as nails - this is hard stuff!! Give yourself a day here and there to be angry, upset, hurt, sad etc. but don't stay in that place! Focus on ways to connect and involve yourself in your community. Getting out of your comfort zone is never easy but sometimes it's a necessity!

Everyone in your situation has tough days. That said I know it doesn't make it easier. Remember you are dealing with some tough stuff and you are gonna have these days. You need to try to get involved in some way. That does two things. One, keeps you busy and two increases your changes of making friends and developing a support network.

Remember this is temporary and will pass.

We all have those days where we don't feel like getting out of bed and just crying. I had quite a few when dh was deployed, but I got myself up and out of bed because people were counting on me. You'll find your way. You've got this, hon!

DH: Thank you. ME: For what, babe? DH: For being you.
