How long have you been with your SO: 8 years this September. Married for 3
How many deployments have you been through before: This is our first.
Your favorite thing about deployment: So far I have no clue, but I think I'll enjoy being able to watch what I want to on TV instead of always having to compromise.
Your least favorite thing about deployment: This getting ready to go business is really dragging out. It's making me crazy!

Married for 7.5 years, third deployment. My favorite thing about deployment - less laundry. Least favorite - my boys crying for their daddy.

How long have you been with your SO: Friends for 11 years, Dated/engaged for 2 years, Married since Feb. 2014
How many deployments have you been through before: alot as friends, this is our first as a couple and its TOTALLY different
Your favorite thing about deployment: Not a dang thing...ask me later
Your least favorite thing about deployment: "This getting ready to go business is really dragging out. It's making me crazy! " I 100 % agree. Im not dealing with this well and I just want to get it all over with at this point. I think above that for me though is nowing all the things he will miss with our daughter. Alot of firsts will happen for her while he is gone.

Hi everyone! My name is Cori
DB is also an August deployment so I am joining you guys. I'm having a particularly hard time with it so far too

How long have you been with your SO: 9 months
How many deployments have you been through before: this is our first
Your favorite thing about deployment: ....nothing. Maybe if I was absolutely forcing myself to think of the most beneficial thing, I would say that I am happy this will make us a stronger couple and will prove we can stick it out through the hard times. It's also taught me to "self soothe." I'm slowly learning to calm myself down and get through my sadness on my own.
Your least favorite thing about deployment: The list goes on and on and I'm only at the beginning. Right now what's hitting me hard is the sheer fact that he's so physically far away, and that it is now literally impossible for me to see him or hug him or kiss him in any way for months and months. It's just daunting to think of how much we have to go...

How long have you been with your SO: 6 months
How many deployments have you been through before: This is the first
Your favorite thing about deployment: Planning for our move to Hawaii next year, more time to work on myself and get things situated at my current home, and remembering that this will only make our relationship stronger
Your least favorite thing about deployment: The obvious time apart, not having him near for hugs and general affection, the uncertainty of the next few months, the list goes on.

DB has 9 month orders but his commander has told his unit that they're hopefully going to be back around December or January because they're in Afghanistan and most of the troops there supposedly have to be out by the end of the year. I don't keep up with the news and politics so I have no clue how accurate this is. I can't look stuff up or I'll start overanalyzing and stressing myself out.
