Didn't think it would be this hard. - Deployment Support Groups

I know him being away is not hard but only because I can still talk to my DF everyday sometimes twice a day. Well he went underway yesterday morning and I haven't heard from him since. I just wanna talk a little bit. I wish they had a phone out there.

I am new to this and read your post and I totally agree withyour heading " Didnt think it would be this hard" My husband is currently deployed in Iraq and I also get to chat with him everyday but it is REALLY HARD.

it can be difficult and takes some getting used to..but youll get there. stay busy.

I just hit 36 hours with NO contact and it sucks but I've gone as many as three days without talking before so it won't be that bad for a few more days and then the whole "he is gone" thing will probably hit me. Getting my daughter to sleep last night was not easy. (She talks to my DF every night before bed). Life does go on though.

It's always hard, but the best thing to do is to keep yourself occupied and put your focus on something else. Stay optimistic and cherish the moments when you do get to hear from him.

I got a few e-mails from him last night and thought wow finally we can talk a bit...wrong I have sent prolly ten e-mails today and I'm still not getting anything back. I HATE THIS!! I can't wait till he gets home I just wanna hear his voice right now.

It's super hard! Hardest thing in my life so far. The worst is when DB says when he will call, and then he doesn't. And then I'm left waiting and worrying
