I think it depends? If it's classified or not...I get e-mails from the FRG forwarded from an ex gf But not about movement...who knows.

I would start with family or friends. I think since you are his girlfriend his family would contact you if something were wrong with him right? And it depends on the FRG but they may tell you nothing. Honestly, they may know nothing. You are better off talking to a family readiness officer. As he or she is the one who is generally in contact with them over there. The FRG takes care of the home front.

The FRG leaders are only allowed to give you information if your boyfriend has given them written permission to do so. I'm an FRG leader at Ft. Stewart, and we had a meeting with all the soldiers where they wrote down who was allowed to receive information during their upcoming deployment. I am assuming he didn't do this. Plus, there is no guarantee that the FRG would know anything. MarineBug is right. Normally, FRG takes care of the families here; however, in my case, we have mostly single soldiers so I deal a lot more with the soldiers than most FRG leaders.
