back to back deployments - Deployment Support Groups

So db was gone for 8 1/2 months in Japan and Afghanistan and apparently all over the world. He came back and I saw him for a few short hours for three nights, then the got re-stationed in Massachusetts after asking for a deployment in California, where we are from. Since he didn't get it, he would rather redeploy. I don't know when he leaves again, but he will now be in Iraq for 13 months. I thought this last one was bad. But jeez i'm looking at over a year and a half without him with less than 20 hours with him in between. A 6 month deployment would be heaven right now. But maybe he will finally be back in California with me after all this bs.

I'm confused. Do you mean he didn't get stationed in California? How long will he be stationed in MA before he's redeploying?

ok so he requested to stay in Cali but they needed him in Mass. he would be there for three years and he would rather deploy for 13 months then to be in mass. which he HATES. It makes sense to me but it sucks. He would just rather be out and about doing something than sitting around in a place that makes him miserable for three years.

and he will be leaving from MA but we don't know when he will be leaving yet. Hopefully sooner rather than later because the sooner he leaves the sooner he will be back.

I didn't even realize there was a base for marines up in Mass.

So does he have orders for the deployment?

All he told me is that is his only option. I am waiting to hear when.
