i had an ex in the coast guard... so i had done "underways" before. but yeah, this is my first deployment!!
i'm almost 4 months in, and well... its been better than i thought in a lot of ways, and harder in some too. i just didn't really know what to expect, especially bc we were soooo new when he left. i hang out here nonstop. i've gotten such amazing advice and ideas and info from the ladies of msos. i owe them so much. i send ridic over the top carepacks, write letters, keep in touch with his family, etc. it was a lot weirder at first to adjust to the limited communication, and then its been ups and downs since! you'll get into a groove and you'll surprise yourself once time starts flying by!

But you already know that. So far, I'm okay. I'm just hoping that I'll hear something in the next few days. I'd like to know that they made it okay.

We're getting close to wrapping ours up! He's in Kosovo so we have very steady communication, but it still sucks.
I have to say even though I'm anxious and these last few months are still hard, I cannot believe he left almost a year ago! It's absolutely stunning to me. Our relationship has gotten stronger and stronger by the day.

DB is in Kosovo. Pretty regular communication but the distance sucks. 9 months....somedays it felt like it would never end but now I wonder where the time went. I think our relationship has gotten stronger and I just want my boy home.

DB is in Afghanistan :/
He just recently came home last month for R&R though which was amazing! Esp. since he told me he wasent going to get one? who knows, but it was a suprise that he came home... I was actually working when I saw him just standing there in the door way... I ran up to him crying and we were hugging and kissing.. it was so funny everyone was just staring at us and the girls that I work with were crying too it was really cute. But we're on our 6th month now with only 6 more to go so we're half way there! ![]() question : I'm sooo not creative and i've been thinking about what to do for my next carepackage. Any ideas? oh btw, DB is such a manly man. He'll get mad at anything that might be "embarrassing" to him or that the other guys will make fun of him for :p |

I'm doing ok. My Dh is in Kuwait so communication is good, we talk everyday! We are well over 7 months into this thing. He just went back from R&R about 3 weeks ago. I'm alittle emotional and missing him alot right now, but I just think that's because I'm sick and pregnant. Time is gonna fly by now!

I'm hanging in there...DB is in Iraq and communication is not the worst, but not the best either. I think that this has totally made us stronger though and the things he says and we talk about are too cute and I'm so excited for him to come home. Too bad that isn't until January (ish)...but hey, 1.5 months already I guess.
I've found taking things week by week makes it easier. |
