Today is the day - Deployment Support Groups

So my DB/DF is headed out tonight for afghanistan. They changed his formation time to 545 so i get to talk to him for a bit longer but in the end he will be gone tonight and i will spend my first night of many crying&&alone. On the positie side it get to see his son/our son today so he will help keep me smiling. Any suggestions on things to do to keep me ocupied? &&Thanks to all the ladies that have helped me so far, you girls our so wonderful....

The first day is hard. I stayed with DBs family that night just cuz it helped me to still be close to him somehow. Depending on how comfortable see if maybe you can crash at a friends house so you arent alone. Allow yourself some time to cry and accept he is gone then pull yourself together when you are ready and do things that make you happy. You can do this!

welcome to the deployment club... i have found awesome support here. the beginning sucks the hardest, but i was with my BFF and we were in hawaii, so staying busy and laughing was very important.

you can do it!

keep positive, pick up arts and crafts or cooking or something you love to do, and spend this time on you. The beginning is the hardest, but you have the strength to pull through this
