Finding actual people - Deployment Support Groups

Okay guys,

so as much as this site is helping cope and its nice to read what other people are going through, how do you find people in YOUR area that you can actually see and talk to face to face?

I find that it would help to have people near you but I'm not quite sure how to go about finding it!

There are plenty of VA girls on here. Look in both the Northeast and Southeast forums for VA get togethers (G2Gs) to meet up with other SOSers. And if you want to travel a bit north, I'm throwing a huge G2G on September 12.

I'm from Roanoke VA and moving to Norfolk. You aren't too far from Richmond, which isn't that much of a drive from myself.. But check the location forums.

Just have to put yourself out there. I agree with the others, look in the section where you're located for get togethers. I'm sure you'll find some good friends soon!
