It has not officailly been three weeks since my SO left for Afghanistan! It has been so hard but now that I have gotten into a routine it isn't so hard after all.. I hear from him every four to five days but it just dosen't seem like enough.. I got a phone call from him last week! I was so excited about it! I was bouncing up and down all day long! I hadn't heard his voice in over two weeks so it was nice to hear him again!
Its hard being separated from him but I know that it is just a matter of time before he is coming home to me again! He keeps telling me he is really bored over there and that he has nothing to do! lol. wow does he have a sense of humor! lol.. not to mention he shaved his head! Which guess what happened after he did that?! He burnt his head! lol.. I guess I will be sending him Aloe Vera in his next care package! lol he he! How are all you ladies coping with deployment so far?

I bet as he settles in more he'll start calling more frequently! It sounds like you're staying strong though. Mine has been gone for six months and every once in a blue moon I'll have a little meltdown in the middle of the night, but then I get over it and I'm fine again.

Aww thanks guys! You don't know how much that all means to me.. I am hearing more and more from him too! It is making it a lot easier to get through the weeks
and I know it will get easier... hmm just can't stop thinking about his mid tour leave! he is already making plans for us! Hey does anyone know how long Mid tour leave is typically? That might help when I make plans to do stuff with him.. then I know how much time I will have with him before he leaves again for the rest of deployment :/

you are on the right track girl. keep it up. now that he says he is bored...the more you have to work on those care packages to not make him bored (so thats a plus that would make you busy throughout this deployment). and yes they do get 2 weeks if they are on tour for a year. i am over my halfway already and cant wait for my freaking rnr to come. keep yourself busy and you wouldnt feel time ticking away.
